SUSTAINABILITY IN COLLABORATION

Together, we will accelerate the real estate industry’s sustainability efforts

The real estate industry is responsible for a high proportion of Sweden’s total greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption. The industry also contributes to large emissions and energy consumption abroad through imported goods. Together, the real estate industry can help shape the future.

Now we are starting a collaboration to accelerate the pace of the industry’s sustainability and environmental efforts. Jointly, we will drive the industry in a more sustainable direction and eliminate the areas that are impeding the real estate industry’s ability to reduce its climate footprint and energy consumption, and increase the use of recycled building materials in renovations and new production.

IMPACT: Together, we highlight the industry problems standing in the way of sustainability efforts through various forms of political statements, opinion pieces, seminars, and campaigns.

FIRST CASE: Recycle when renovating rental housing. As a first case, we want to discuss how the current use-value system is impeding increased recycling when renovating rental housing. How can we register new proposals for the rental market actors in a way that ensures that the use-value system encourages and values recycling during renovation?
